The first “draft” of this used the “Empire State Building” which I thought was THE building of the urban legend. THEN I had a rather stupid discussion with editors about how it should be changed to “Sears Tower” as we’re in Chicago. My counter argument about the urban legend and the fact that this “Kidnews” section was being syndicated to papers in other states that had neither the Sears Tower OR the Empire State Building fell upon deaf ears.
As is sometimes the case, you just have to cash the check and try to avoid having your head explode.
